What the membership form collects
Your name, email, phone number, whether you are Syrian and any nationalities you hold, your professional sector, education level and a description of how you would like to contribute. For verification, the form also requires a copy of your CV and one identity document. It records your acknowledgement and consent, the policy version, submission time and an application reference. The form does not request payment details.
How the information is used
The information is used to assess and administer your membership application and contact you about it. Application details and uploaded documents are stored privately and are never displayed on this website. Uploaded documents are accessible only to authorised SBPN administrators, and every access is recorded in an audit log. The identity document is used solely to verify that you are who you say you are and that your details match. To perform that check the identity document is sent to Google's Gemini service, which reads it and returns a recommendation; SBPN does not use that service to make the decision, and an administrator reviews and decides every application. Your CV is not sent to that service. Submitting the form sends you a confirmation email and notifies SBPN administrators; it does not enrol you in marketing communications.
Consent and your choices
The application asks for consent to use the submitted information for membership review and contact. You can ask to withdraw this consent by emailing SBPN. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Please provide only relevant professional information in the free-text field.
Storage, access and retention
This website and its database run on infrastructure operated by or for SBPN. Authorised administrators and SBPN's hosting provider may process information to operate the website. Uploaded documents are stored outside the public web root and are not reachable by direct link. SBPN must confirm the hosting location, processing arrangements, safeguards and retention periods before public launch. SBPN intends to delete identity documents once verification is complete; the exact retention period is to be confirmed by SBPN.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your information, and to data portability. You may also have a right to object to certain processing. Contact SBPN to make a request or raise a concern. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Cookies and external services
No advertising or analytics scripts have been added to this website. Hosting and access-control services may use essential cookies or process technical connection data. Confirmation and notification emails are delivered through a transactional email provider, and identity documents are processed by Google's Gemini service for verification as described above. SBPN must confirm the data-processing terms and transfer safeguards for both providers before public launch. Links to social media, Tech50K and other websites lead to services governed by their own privacy notices.
Changes
